What is more annoying than having a watch that is not connected to the right time zone? It completely defeats the purpose of buying the watch. Lucky for you, I know how to change the time zone on your Fitbit so you no longer have to do math in your head to figure out what time it is.

To change the time zone on a Fitbit, go into the Fitbit app and tap the Today tab. Then, click on App Settings and find the time zone file. Turn off the Set Automatically option and tap Time Zone and find the right time zone for the Fitbit device.

This is an easy quick way to change your time zone, but it only works on iPhones and iPads. Each device has different instructions on how to change the time zone on your device. Continue reading to learn how to change the time zone on your Fitbit on various other devices.

iPhones, iPads, and Android Phones

You will do the same thing to change the time zone of your Fitbit on an iPhone, iPad, or Android device. You will start by going into the Fitbit app. You need to have the Fitbit app to change the settings on your Fitbit, so if you do not have the Fitbit app, you are going to want to download it. The Fitbit app is available for free in all major app stores.

Once you are in the Fitbit app, you are going to tap on the Today tab. Once you have tapped on the Today tab, you are going to click on your profile picture. This will give you a list of options to choose from. You are going to scroll and look for the App Settings tab. Once you have entered your App Settings, you are going to look for another tab that is titled “Time Zone”.

The first thing you want to do in the Time Zone tab is turn off the Set Automatically option on your device. It defaults to have your Fitbit just naturally know what time zone it is in using GPS tracking, but if you have the wrong time zone on your Fitbit, then this portion of your Fitbit is malfunctioning.

It is malfunctioning either because you are in an area with a low GPS signal and your Fitbit can’t pick it up, or there is something wrong with that part of your device. Either way, you can fix your Fitbit’s time zone without it.

Once you have turned off the Set Automatically option, you are going to hit the tab that says Time Zone again and select the time zone that you are in. There will be a long list you will have to scroll through, but once you have done this, there is only one more step you need to complete.

The final step is that you are going to want to sync your Fitbit device. Otherwise, the changes you have made will not transfer over to your device until its next scheduled sync. This way, you can check and see if you have chosen the right time zone and fixed everything properly. Once it is synced, your Fitbit should display the correct time.

Windows 10 Devices

How To Change Time Zone on Fitbit

For a Windows 10 device, things are a little different. The different programming of a Windows 10 device makes it necessary to have a different layout for the Fitbit app, so there are different tabs you will need to enter and different buttons to push in order to change the time zone of your Fitbit. However, it is not any harder to change the time zone of your Fitbit on a Windows 10 device than it is to change it on an iPad, iPhone, or Android device.

The first thing you are going to do is similar to what you would have done with an iPad, iPhone, or Android device. You are going to go into the Fitbit app. As mentioned before, you can download the Fitbit app off of every main app store. You can also go to the Fitbit website and find the download for Windows 10 available. Make sure that you have the app before you continue.

Now that you are in the app, make sure that you are on the dashboard page. This is where you are going to click on the Account icon. The Account icon looks like a little identification card. You will hit that icon and scroll through all the options that appear until you find Advanced Settings.

Once you have entered into Advanced Settings, you are going to tap the Time Zone button. After hitting the Time Zone button, you are going to turn off the Auto option. This will allow you to be able to select the correct time zone. Unlike what will happen when you change the time zone of your Fitbit with an iPad, iPhone, or Android, the options should just appear after you have turned off the auto setting.

Finally, once you have picked your time zone that you are in, you will sync your Fitbit device to transfer over the new data. This will allow you able to see the changes on your Fitbit device. Once you have done that, you are good and ready to go back to exercising.
